BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is now investigating a shooting involving Boca Raton Police overnight near Barnes and Noble at 1400 West Glades Road.

The FDLE investigation is standard after a police involved shooting.

According to Boca Raton Police, a subject with a knife was located in the area of Barnes and Noble late Thursday night. While it was not immediately clear what led to the altercation, police responded and shot the person who was taken to Delray Medical Center in critical condition.

The knife, according to police, was recovered at the scene.

The plaza, which includes Whole Foods, was closed overnight and is expected to remain an active scene throughout the day.
