DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Seven Bridges resident charged with DUI and Hit and Run in the hours after Halloween ended apparently drove into a telephone pole. Or a car. Depending on who you ask.

The Delray Beach Police Department reports that Andre Forani of Vitrail Lane in West Delray Beach was found screaming at his girlfriend in the area of 2525 Gulfstream Drive in East Delray Beach at 11:48 p.m. Sunday.

This is the police report filed by one of the responding Delray Beach Police Officers:

“(At 11:38 p.m. on Halloween), I was dispatched to a vehicle crash at 2525 Ocean View Ave. and the parties involved
were in a dispute. Upon my arrival, I observed a black male yelling at a white female. At the scene, I separated
the two people and asked if anyone was injured. I then observed that there was only one vehicle that appeared to
have been involved in a crash. The blue 2008 BMW bearing Florida tag LOHWG had front bumper damage.”

“The black male, later identified as Andre E.M. Forani was the driver. I made contact with Forani. He was extremely
angry at (his girlfriend, also at the scene) and kept yelling at her. He was constantly pacing back and forth from his car to where (the girlfriend) and I were having our interview. (The girlfriend) stated under oath that he was behind the wheel at the time of the crash and that he hit another vehicle. He then left the scene without giving any information to the owner of the other vehicle.”

OBSERVATION OF DRIVER:
“The defendant, Andre Forani, appeared impaired, he had glassy eyes, slow dexterity, slow comprehension and had the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage about his breath. He was very aggressive toward the police at the
scene and his girlfriend who was a passenger in his vehicle at the time of the accident.”

DRIVER’S STATEMENTS:
“The defendant stated that he was at a party and had drank too much to drive but his girlfriend insisted
that he drive her home so he did and crashed into a telephone pole. The defendant refused roadside tasks
at the scene.

ODORS:
“The defendant had the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage about his person.”

The police report never concludes whether Forani hit a car or a telephone pole. He refused a breath test and also refused field sobriety tests. His speech was documented as “thick, slurred,” and his attitude was “uncooperative, combative, agitated.”

Forani was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on his own recognizance. A court date is pending. The official charges: “DUI,” and “Crash, failure to leave information (following) unattended vehicle property damage.”

We note that Mr. Forani was the defendant in 18 cases filed in the Palm Beach County court system since April of 2017.
