Delray Beach Restaurant Ordered To Close Several Times Over Several Days. Now Open.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Extremely popular bagel restaurant Way Beyond Bagels on Jog Road in Delray Beach was forced to close multiple times over the past several days due to “rodent droppings” and other issues.

A health inspector from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ordered the restaurant shut once on November 5th, once on November 6th, twice on November 9th, then again on November 10th. A second inspection on November 10th led to the restaurant being permitted to reopen.

The following is the “official” language from reports filed by DBPR inspectors from the multiple inspections. We do not edit this language:

NOVEMBER 5th, 2021

High Priority – Rodent activity present as evidenced by rodent droppings found….39 rodent droppings on the lids of flour and salt by the walk-in-cooler. Approximately 20 rodent droppings underneath shelvings at dry storage area by the walk-in-cooler. Approximately 10 rodent droppings below grill at kitchen. Approximately 25 rodent droppings underneath dishwashing sink and area. 5 rodent droppings in the speed racks. Approximately 30 rodent droppings underneath Deli case at front. **Warning**

High Priority – Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse…. Tuna salad, chicken salad, veggie tuna salad, boiled eggs, Brussels sprouts, salmon salad, nova cream cheese, plain cream cheese, roast beef all at between 45°-48 **Warning**

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit….tuna salad 49°, tofu cream cheese 50°, chicken salad47°, broccoli chickpeas salad 49° in front line glass door display case. ….skim milk 45°, regular milk 56°, half and half 49° in thermostat pot at beverage station at front. All food being held less than four hours. **Repeat Violation** **Warning**

NOVEMBER 6th, 2021

Way Beyond Bagels was inspected a second time on November 10th and given an “all clear.” The restaurant has remained open since that inspection.
