BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County doesn’t really have a “mayor,” except for the leader of the County Commission that holds the title for administrative and public-facing purposes.
Robert Weinroth today became the next Mayor of Palm Beach County as David Kerner ended two years at the helm. Kerner’s two year stint brought unprecedented challenges and tumult as COVID restrictions, lockdowns and controversy ensued.
He also received more national attention, and public scrutiny, than likely any Palm Beach County Mayor in history.
Kerner remains a Palm Beach County Commissioner.
Robert Weinroth is a Boca Raton resident and District 4 Commissioner. He was first elected in 2018. He served as an executive and general counsel in insurance, finance, and health care industries — according to a bio on the official Palm Beach County Website.
His vice-Mayor will be Greg Weiss.
