Several Boca Raton Elementary Schools Face Boundary Changes For Next School Year

BOCA RATON, FL ( (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Your child may be attending a different elementary school year, as the Palm Beach County School Board considers multiple boundary changes.

The schools under discussion for changing: Whispering Pines, Verde, J.C. Mitchell, Calusa and Addison Mizner. A new school is also set to open by the next school year — it is known as “5C.”

A meeting is set for December 9th at 4 p.m. The Palm Beach County School District just released the following information for parents and others who would like to attend, or be heard:

The Advisory Boundary Committee (ABC) will convene in a fully virtual meeting on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 4 p.m. The Committee will discuss an attendance zone change proposal establishing the boundaries for the new elementary school “05-C”, scheduled to open in Boca Raton in August 2022.

Existing school zones for the following elementary schools is proposed to change: Addison Mizner, Calusa, J.C. Mitchell, Verde, and Whispering Pines.

  • All participants who wish to speak must register by 12 p.m. on December 9. Complete the ABC Zoom Registration Form or call (561) 434-8020 by 12 p.m. on December 9, and include your Study Area Code (SAC).   • To submit written comments, email by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting, to ensure they are received by the ABC members in a timely manner.
