BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Ben’s Deli in West Boca Raton is closed until further notice due to COVID-19. We previously reported on the deli’s apparently problematic COVID protocols. That was roughly a year ago. Then, over the summer, Ben’s received several “high priority” violations when the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspected the restaurant. Read our report on that inspection here.

From Ben’s website Sunday night, January 2nd, 2021:
“There has been a rise in COVID cases in Florida. We have not gone unscathed. Some of our employees have been infected. Effective immediately, we are temporarily closing this location to sanitize the entire store and are insisting that all of our employees receive a negative COVID test before returning to work. Our goal is to reopen on Wednesday, January 5th. However, we will keep you updated.”
Other locations are apparently not affected.
It was not immediately clear if COVID spread IN the restaurant among unmasked workers. It was also not immediately clear if customers have been notified of possible exposure.
