BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District has logged at least 400 new COVID-19 cases over just the past four days. The number is actually expected to be much higher — many students have not returned to school since winter break ended and may have not reported a positive COVID test.
The latest cases bring the school year total to 8,194 COVID-19 cases, with 1,249 assigned to employees and 6,945 assigned to students.
The school district reports that Seminole Ridge High leads the school district with the highest number of cases at 179. It’s followed by Palm Beach Central High with 166, Wellington High with 160, Jupiter High with 157, and Boca Raton High with 148.
Other area schools of note: Olympic Heights High reports 123 COVID-19 cases this school year, Spanish River High reports 114, West Boca Community High also reports 114, Verde K-9 reports 105, Calusa Elementary reports 90, and Eagles Landing Middle School reports 84 COVID-19 cases.
We note that the Palm Beach County School District logged just 3,855 cases during the entire 2020-2021 school year.
