BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District just logged one of its largest single day COVID counts since the start of the pandemic. At least 275 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on January 10th. Another 57 cases were added early this morning.
That brings the two-day total to 332, while the school year’s COVID count is now 8,542. The split so far shows 7,215 students and 1,327 employees testing positive this school year for COVID-19.
Leading the pack: Seminole Ridge High reports 179 cases; Palm Bach Central High reports 173 cases, Wellington High reports 170 cases; Jupiter High 164 cases; Boca Raton High 150 COVID-19 cases; Olympic Heights High checks in with 137 cases; Woodlands Middle reports 130 this school year; Spanish River High 115; West Boca Raton Community High reports 116; Verde K-9 107; Eagles Landing Middle 92 cases; Calusa Elementary 94 cases; Addison Mizner Elementary reports 93 COVID-19 cases.
The Palm Beach County School District is reporting more cases now than at any time during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 3,855 COVID cases were logged during the entire 2020-2021 school year. That number has already doubled just halfway through the 2021-2022 school year.
