UPDATE: 6:25 PM — Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is now the lead agency. We are awaiting an official report from FWC.
UPDATE: 2:45 PM — The United States Coast Guard was called to the scene in the Intracoastal.
UPDATE: 2:34 PM — An adult was pronounced dead at the scene. Rescuers have told Delray Medical Center that the boat was traveling at a “moderately high rate of speed.”
UPDATE: 2:27 PM — Two trauma alerts are being sent to Delray Medical Center. Both children. Injuries are described as “boat crash with ejection.”

HIGHLAND BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Delray Beach and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units are on the scene in Highland Beach — just north of Boca Raton — for what sounds like a dramatic water rescue in the Intracoastal. The address is 3310 South Ocean Blvd.


Moments ago, at 2:19 p.m., rescuers radioed that they had pulled two pediatric victims from the water and were administering aid.
A third victim — identified as an adult, possibly the children’s grandparent — was seen face down in the water. Rescuers were trying to pull that person from the water.
