BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District today is expected to pass the 12,000 COVID-19 case mark — an astonishing watermark. The school district logged a total of 3,855 during the 2020-2021 school year.
Today’s numbers already represent a level three times last year’s total count — and that number is growing. As of 6 a.m. Monday, the school district reports 11,967 logged COVID cases during the 2021-2022 school year, with 9,975 students and 1,992 employees reporting positive tests. Even so, the School District today returns to “mask optional” for staff and visitors. Masks have been optional for students ever since Florida Governor Ron DeSantis instituted a mask mandate ban, a ban upheld by the courts.

Olympic Heights High School reports 213 cases.
Spanish River High School reports 184 cases.
Boca Raton High School reports 181 cases.
West Boca Raton Community High reports 174 cases.
Eagles Landing Middle School reports 153 cases.
Verde K-8 reports 126 cases.
Addison Mizner Elementary reports 126 cases.
Calusa Elementary School reports 124 cases.
Omni Middle School reports 119 cases.
Boca Raton Middle School reports 104 cases.
Sunrise Park Elementary reports 103 cases.
Sandpiper Shores Elementary Reports 93 cases.
Whispering Pines Elementary reports 86 cases.
The most current COVID count is expected to be updated by noon on Monday.
