UPDATE 1:14 PM — From Delray Beach Police, this is how the incident started: “First 911 call received at 10:26 a.m. The bank robbery happened at the TD Bank (969 SE Fifth Avenue, Delray Beach). Male suspect walked in with a machete, demanded money and left in a car with an undisclosed amount of cash. Delray Beach officers followed the suspect onto NB I-95, but lost sight of him as he entered Boynton Beach. He eventually ended up in the Broward/Miami area.”

Our first update comes directly from the Broward Sheriff’s Office which was part of a team tracking the suspect. We will have more from Delray Beach shortly:
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, the Broward Sheriff’s Office Burglary Apprehension Team received a request from the South Florida Task Force in Palm Beach County to track a vehicle suspected of being involved in a bank robbery in Delray Beach.
The vehicle was believed to be traveling through Broward County. B.A.T. detectives and BSO’s Aviation Unit located the vehicle and pursued it into Miami Gardens where they were able stop the vehicle at 3490 N.W. 191st Street. A brief standoff ensued.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident by BSO detectives shortly after 12 p.m.
