BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Whether’s it’s just part of the expected ebb-and-flow of a tapering pandemic, or signs that things may be heading back to a danger zone, note this: Kinsa just elevated the COVID-19 spread risk in Palm Beach County.

As we’ve reported for nearly two years, Kinsa is the health data company that utilizes data from hundreds of thousands of “connected” thermometers that transmits anonymous information to its cloud. Kinsa was credited with accurately predicting the first — and then subsequent — waves of COVID-19. Its predictions are now used by health officials world wide.

After weeks in the “green” zone, Kinsa just elevated Palm Beach County to yellow, writing: “There is a moderate risk of illness in Palm Beach County. COVID-19 cases are moderately high and stable, while Influenza (flu) cases are low and spreading.”

The elevation is notable. Palm Beach County, which spent more than a month at “99” with “critical risk” during the Omicron wave, has been in the green zone or “low risk” for weeks. Whether this is elevation is nothing of significance — or an ominous sign of things to come — remains to be seen.
