BOCA RATON, FL ( (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Whether it’s part of a social media challenge gone terribly wrong or a new level of violence that teachers are powerless to prevent, parents are so concerned about fights, attacks, and what some call ”gang activity” in Boca Raton’s Omni Middle School that kids are being kept home by parents fearful to send them what is supposed to be a safe space.

In the video we are publishing below — all apparently recorded this week — a student is seen barging into a classroom and attacking another child while the teacher calls for help. The student then engages the teacher who he tells to orally ingest his (private part). The female teacher, without missing a beat, tells the child he doesn’t have (anything) to do that to. She then uses an expletive when telling him to leave.

In another video, part of the same clip below, a boy attacks a girl on a school bus, then retreats, then attacks her again. In a third clip — a boy is seen lunging at a girl in an Omni Middle School hallway.

“We are scared,” said the parent of a student to “The school is out of control.”

“These kids are animals in a zoo with no zookeeper to control them,” said another parent. “There are a lot of dedicated students who want to learn, but these thugs are preventing that from happening, and it seems administrators are doing nothing. Where are the grown-ups?”

The seemingly unprecedented level of violence prompted Omni Middle School Principal Nikkia DeLuz to prevent kids from moving from one class to another late in the school day on Tuesday. She issued the following statement via Robocall Tuesday night:

“Good evening Omni Middle School parents and guardians, this is Principal Nikkia Deluz,

In all decisions, the very first matter considered is the safety and well being of every student and staff member on this campus. A concerning trend by some students has created a disruption to our regularly scheduled academic day, as well as an unnecessary risk of potential injury.

This afternoon, administration put a hold on transition from students’ 5th period class, and conducted a staggered dismissal to control disruptive behavior of a few students. During transitions, some students are getting their cell phones out and running quickly in one direction to create panic. This intentional action to cause chaos has no place on our campus, and any student who participates in this behavior will be disciplined, as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.

Parents, please have a meaningful conversation with your student about the appropriate use of cell phones, the danger of emerging social media challenges, and the responsibility we each have in ensuring a safe learning environment.

Violence at Omni Middle School is not new. We reported exclusively in January of 2020 that a boy with learning challenges was attacked on campus. It was caught on camera. The attack led to a lawsuit. has learned that Palm Beach County school district officials are aware of the latest fight issues at Omni Middle School and are considering appropriate action. Omni Middle School is a public school in Boca Raton.
