BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The boundaries are now locked for brand new Blue Lake Elementary School. If you live in the area surrounded by the neon green line on the map above, you are now zoned for Blue Lake. The school is represented by the green dot.

The Palm Beach County School Board approved the boundaries during its Wednesday meeting. The school opens officially in August. There are several guidelines, rules, and procedures outlined in an update released by the school district Thursday morning.

The following is part of the document released. We’re linking to the full document at the bottom of this report.

FROM PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT:

  1. All currently enrolled students in kindergarten through fourth grade at Calusa Elementary, J.C. Mitchell Elementary, and Verde K-8, who now reside in the new boundaries of Blue Lake Elementary School, will automatically be moved and enrolled at Blue Lake Elementary for the 2022–2023 school year. No enrollment is required. All student files and information will be moved automatically

    All current fourth grade students (students who will be in the fifth grade in 2022–2023), and their current K-3 siblings, will be permitted to opt-in to remain at their current SY 2021–2022 schools. In addition, these families will be permitted to enroll their 2022–2023 incoming kindergarten student(s) at their current school if they so desire. Parents/guardians must complete a reassignment form for each eligible household.
  2. All currently enrolled students in kindergarten through fourth grade at Verde K-8, who reside in SAC 342A, will be automatically enrolled and moved to Addison Mizner for the 2022–2023 school year. No enrollment is required. All student files and information will be moved automatically

    All current fourth grade students (students who will be in the fifth grade in 2022–2023), and their current K-3 siblings, will be permitted to opt-in to remain at their current SY 2021–2022 schools. In addition, these families will be permitted to enroll their 2022–2023 incoming kindergarten student(s) at their current school if they so desire.   3. All currently enrolled students in kindergarten through fourth grade at Addison Mizner, who reside in SAC 335, will be automatically enrolled and moved to J.C. Mitchell Elementary for the 2022–2023 school year. No enrollment is required. All student files and information will be moved automatically

    All current fourth grade students (students who will be in the fifth grade in 2022–2023), and their current K-3 siblings, will be permitted to opt-in to remain at their current SY 2021–2022 schools.     Reassignment: Reassignments will be accepted starting Thursday, April 14, 2022. The Department of Choice and Career Options will be emailing a link for the Reassignment application to eligible families, no later than April 14, 2022.
