BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It’s two bad inspections in a row for the Barefoot Cafe Kitchen on the property of Polo Club in Boca Raton. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation says that it is recommending an “administrative complaint” against the restaurant.

During an April 15th inspection, Barefoot Cafe Kitchen repeated several violations first noted earlier in the year. Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, we publish the actual text of the violation with only minor editing:

“High Priority – Heat strip failed to turn black to indicate the sanitization temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit was achieved on the dish surface and/or high temperature holding thermometer did not reach 160F. Discontinue use of dish machine for sanitizing and set up manual sanitization until dish machine is repaired. **Warning** – From follow-up inspection 2022-04-15: Heat strip failed to turn black to indicate the sanitization temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit was achieved on the dish surface and/or high temperature holding thermometer did not reach 160F. Discontinue use of dish machine for sanitizing and set up manual sanitization until dish machine is repaired. **Admin Complaint**

Intermediate – – From initial inspection: Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime…can opener blade, employee cleaned. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning** – From follow-up inspection 2022-04-15: Not cleaned, employee moved can opener. **Admin Complaint**

On February 4th, the following violations were recorded:

High Priority – Raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food…raw shell eggs stored directly Tom of the yogurt shake at walk-in cooler. Employee moved **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit….corn, cheeses, cheese sauce, calamari, cut tomatoes all at 49°-to 52° in flip-top reach in drawer at salad station. Food being held less than four hours. Employee moved food to walk-in cooler. **Corrective Action Taken** **Warning**

Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime…can opener blade, employee cleaned. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Intermediate – No plan review submitted and approved – bar area added. Must submit plans and plan review application to DBPR H and R Plan Review office located at 2601 Blair Stone Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32399-1011. Plans must be submitted AND approved within 60 days…. serve drink ice , cut lime, lemon, wine, beer, no over-head protection, no handwashing sink, glassware is displayed on the open counter at Out side bar by the swimming area. **Warning**

Barefoot Cafe Kitchen is located at 5400 Champion Blvd. in Polo Club.
