Boynton’s Daniel Weitzel Killed In Crash, Cops Seek Witnesses

UPDATE: 11:20 a.m. May 5, 2022 – Boynton Beach Police just updated media to advise the victim’s last name is Weitzel, not Weitzer as police originally reported. We have updated this report to reflect the correction from police.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boynton Beach resident Daniel Weitzel, 68, was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash now under investigation.

The Boynton Beach Police Department says Ryann Wright, 19, driving a black Dodge Challenger, entered the intersection at West Gateway Blvd. and Royal Manor Circle while Weitzel, driving a Range Rover, was making a left turn. The two vehicles collided.

An initial police report does not indicate who was at fault.

Weitzel was rushed to Delray Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Ryann Wright, according to police, was not injured. The two juveniles in her vehicle were also not injured.
