BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton restaurant is facing trouble with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation after logging 14 violations during back-to-back inspections over two days.

The restaurant remains open but faces an ”administrative complaint” from the Florida DBPR.

The Artful Dodger Bar and Grill at 495 NE 20th Street in Boca Raton was cited for ten violations during an inspection on May 12th. Per BocaNewsNow.com, we are publishing the specific language written by the inspector with no-to-limited editing.

High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. 1 live roach observed on left side floor of residential fridge on cook line. **Warning**

High Priority – Raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food. Open package of raw bacon stored on top of cut tomato and onion in cook line flip top cooler **Warning**

High Priority – Operating with an expired Division of Hotels and Restaurants license. License expired 12-1-21 **Repeat Violation** **Admin Complaint**

High Priority – Toxic substance/chemical improperly stored. Sternos improperly stored in dry storage room **Warning**

Intermediate – Ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared onsite and held more than 24 hours not properly date marked. No prepared tcs foods date marked **Warning**

Basic – Plumbing system in disrepair. Hose tubing from hand wash sink draining water into recycling bin containing glass liquor bottles **Warning**

Basic – Interior of oven/microwave has accumulation of black substance/grease/food debris. Microwave soiled **Warning**

Basic – Dead roaches on premises. Observed 5 dead roaches on left side floor of residential fridge on cook line. Observed 5 casings/eggs on left side floor of residential fridge on cook line. 1 dead roach observed on right side. **Warning**

On May 13th, the FLDBPR inspector returned and logged the following violations.

Despite the issues, the Artful Dodger was not required to shut down. Another unannounced inspection is pending.
