UPDATE: 4:10 p.m. — BSO just issued the following statement to BocaNewsNow.com. ”Just after 2 p.m., Broward Regional Communications received a call about a crash and a shooting at Powerline Road and West Sample Road in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. All traffic lanes at the intersection of Powerline Road and West Sample Road are shutdown as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes until further notice.”
UPDATE: 2:26 p.m. — Two victims are being transported, one extremely critical condition. The suspect fled in an SUV.

Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the incident started as a car crash. Then someone apparently emerged from a vehicle and shot a person in another vehicle in the head.
Expect roads in the area to be closed for the next several hours. The condition of the shooting victim is unclear.
Police are searching for the suspect.
