BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Christopher Koch owns a $1.2M home in the new community of Lotus on Lyons Road in Boca Raton. But he’s waking up Friday morning in the Palm Beach County Jail. Koch, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is a sexual offender who failed to correctly register either in the State of Florida or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Public records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com indicate that Koch pleaded guilty in May of 2006 to a charge of indecent aggravated assault on a person under age 16. The assault occurred in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Koch also pleaded guilty to a count of “corruption of minors,” and ”aggravated indecent assault.” He was apparently living in Malvern, Pennsylvania — a Philadelphia suburb — at the time. Koch attended Villanova University and St. Joseph’s, both in the Philadelphia area.
Koch was arrested by PBSO on Thursday and booked into jail at 3:18 p.m. He remains held without bond Friday morning. He is officially charged with ”failure to register as a sex offender — failure to report intent to establish residence out of state,” and ”sexual offender violation — failure to provide personal information as requested.”
It was not immediately clear where Koch is accused of not registering. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Sexual Predator and Offender registration system does show Koch listed with his Lotus Boca Raton address on Wandering Wave Avenue. It states that he is 6’01”, with blond hair and blue eyes. He weighs 190 pounds. The system also reports he has a tattoo on his left chest and on his back. He drives a 2021 blue BMW with license place JEHT40, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
UPDATE 6:44 p.m. July 8, 2022: The Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts reports that Koch was released on his own recognizance, however Palm Beach County Jail records indicate that he is still being held as of Friday evening.
UPDATE: JULY 10, 2022: Koch is now out of jail on his own recognizance. A judge did find probable cause for his arrest. Attorneys for Koch deny that a crime occurred.
