BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A lawsuit just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court claims that Boca Raton-based ”BlueGreen Vacations” scammed a Louisiana couple by locking them into a timeshare that they can’t sell and must pay to maintain every year.
Mack Lucas and Kimberly Wallace allege that BlueGreen Vacations, located at 4960 Conference Way North in Boca Raton, misrepresented The Lake Eve Resort Condominium in South Orlando. During the period of a seven hour sales pitch, attorneys for Lucas and Wallace claim that a sales representative, ”advised on multiple occasions that purchasing a timeshare is a good investment; advised that Plaintiffs would save money on booking rooms; advised that Plaintiffs could earn income by renting out their timeshare; advised that a timeshare is easy to sell; advised that the timeshare was a ’valuable asset’ that could be left to Plaintiff’s children.”
The lawsuit, however, claims none of this is true, that documents were partially covered when Lucas and Wallace signed, and that “BlueGreen did not allow Lucas and Wallace to review any timeshare purchase transaction documents.”
States the lawsuit: ”Due to the high pressure sales tactics [and length seven hour presentation] by the time Plaintiffs signed the timeshare contract they were physically worn down and mentally stressed out.”
Documents show the timeshare was purchased for $30,450.00 with a mandatory $863.72 minimum maintenance fee each year. Unable to pay, Lucas and Wallace claim that BlueGreen has reported negative information to credit agencies.
