Florida Sales Tax Holiday Is Underway, Here’s What To Buy Now

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Florida’s annual Sales Tax holiday is underway now through August 7th. It’s a great time to stock up on school supplies and electronics at what could be a significant savings.

Here is an official list of what is included. We note the computer equipment valued at $1500 or less. For schools requiring laptops, Chromebooks, or iPads, this is the perfect time to buy.

OFFICIAL STATE OF FLORIDA LIST OF SALES TAX-FREE ITEMS THROUGH AUGUST 7th:

  • Learning aids selling for $30 or less per item, such as: 
    • Interactive Books, 
    • Jigsaw Puzzles, and
    • Other toys that teach reading or math skills
  • School supplies selling for $50 or less per item, such as:
    • Binders, 
    • Calculators,
    • Notebooks, 
    • Pens and pencils, and
    • Lunch boxes.
  • Clothing and footwear selling for $100 or less per item, such as: 
    • Backpacks,
    • Pants,
    • Shoes,
    • Shirts, and 
    • Sweaters. 
  • Personal computers and related accessories purchased for noncommercial home or personal use selling for $1,500 or less per item, such as: 
    • Personal Computers,
    • Flash drives,
    • Computer batteries,
    • Printers, and 
    • Headphones.

Most online retailers automatically apply the sales-tax savings. All in-person retailers in Florida should be aware of the requirement to not assess sales tax.
