BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Boca Raton woman arrested earlier this week on a charge of child neglect allegedly snorted Fentanyl in the bathroom of P.F. Chang’s in Boca Raton, then drove her car — with kids inside — the wrong way on Glades Road. The incident, involving Diana Gottlieb, occurred in February of 2021, but the arrest warrant was just issued and executed by Boca Raton Police. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the probable cause affidavit filed by police which reveals specific allegations.

On 02/09/2021 at around 2121 hours BRPD received multiple calls about an orange in color Volkswagen traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Glades Rd. I then responded lights and sirens to the area and found the vehicle at the intersection of Glades Rd and Jog Rd facing the wrong direction.

I parked my patrol vehicle behind the vehicle in question and got out to assist. Diana Gottlieb was the driver of the vehicle and appeared to be suffering from an overdose. (Two minors) were taken out of the vehicle once it was placed in park. Medics responded and administered Narcan to Diana which she then regained consciousness and was transported to Boca Raton Regional Hospital. While at the hospital outside of her room the main care nurse Lisa O Connor handed me a yellow in color envelope that had writing on it.. O’Connor stated the envelope was found under Diana’s bra and fell out while they were running tests on her.

Inside the envelope contained a beige baggy with a beige power substance inside I then spoke with Diana about the unknown substance at BRRH following-her overdose. I read Diana her constitutional rights from a preprinted BRPD card. Post Miranda Diana admitted to being in possession of the unknown substance by shaking her head up and down when questioned about it.

Diana went on to say that she did not know what was in the baggy and that it was her first time taking it. I asked her why she took the substance and she stated she was out of Percocet and got the substance to substitute for her pain medicine. I then asked her when she took the substance and she stated around 2030 hours. Diana went on to say before leaving PF Changs located at 1400 W Glades Rd she went to the bathroom and snorted the substance.

Shortly after she got into her vehicle as the driver and had two passengers with her both occupants are juveniles. Shortly after Diana stated she does not remember what happened next. Diana stated she was embarrassed and nothing further

On 02/14/2021 I sent the beige unknown substance to PBSO Crime Lab to be tested. On 07/13/2021 I received confirmation from the PBSO Crime Lab with test results for the unknown substance sent for testing on 02/14/2021. The substance came back as Fentanyl a schedule 2 drug weighing at.1927 +/- .0036 grabs at a coverage probability of 99.738. Based on my investigation I am filling for a warrant under F. S. S 893.13 (6A) Possession of a level 2 substance and two counts of Child Neglect under F. S. S 827.03 (IE). Diana admitted to being in possession and taking an unknown substance to her. She then got behind the wheel and put the lives of in danger. Diana overdosed on the substance and drove into oncoming traffic before coming to a stop in the intersection of Glades Rd and Jog Rd. Charges to be filed with the SAO.

Gottlieb was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on July 31, 2022 and released on $6,000 bond the following. day. She is charged with child neglect and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. A judge ordered her to undergo random drug testing as her case works through the court system. Her next appearance is on August 18th.
