Parked Cars Can’t Move. Other Drivers Stuck. All While Woman Is Apparently In Salon.
BY: STAFF REPORT | BocaNewsNow.com
UPDATE: August 7, 2022: A person claiming to be related to the owner of the vehicle says this was all a misunderstanding. Apparently (according to the person who contacted us) the car happened to die right then and there in the travel lane, so the driver — who suffers from a disability — decided to leave it while she went to the pet store. Another family member, according to the person contacting us, then arrived to push the vehicle with the help of “wonderful people” from Boca Raton. We note that many people reached out with the initial version, published below.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman apparently left her car right in the middle of a travel lane in the parking lot at Boca Raton’s “The Reserve” Friday afternoon. That’s the shopping center at the intersection of U.S. 441 and Clint Moore Road. The car, the dark Toyota seen above, was eventually pushed out of the lane by a man who had enough. You read that correctly. The man pushed the car so other cars could leave their parking spaces.
Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the oblivious woman was apparently in a salon in the shopping center and didn’t want to miss her appointment. You also read that correctly. So she did what so many Boca Raton residents have been trained to do: just put a Handicapped placard on the mirror and leave the car where ever you want to leave it! Never mind if it’s trapping several cars that were parked in legitimate spaces.
It is unclear if the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was ever called to the scene. It seems, however, that Deputies were not needed. All that was needed was a man who had enough and pushed the car so blocked cars could leave.
Woman who left her Toyota in the middle of the driving lane at “The Reserve,” you are our “Boca Rudeton™” highlight of the day. We see a lot of things here at BocaNewsNow.com, but just leaving your car in front of others so you can get your hair done or go shopping is really something — and really something you rarely see in places that aren’t named “Boca Raton.” Be sure to stop by for your award. But we ask that you park in a legitimate space.
