UPDATE: 5:06 p.m — The victim of the Delray Beach crash, originally reported as having died, is in critical condition. The City of Delray Beach issued this statement a short time ago: “This morning, a traffic accident occurred near the intersection of Linton Boulevard and Federal Highway involving a Delray Beach employee driving a city vehicle and a cyclist. The cyclist was transported by Delray Beach Fire Rescue to a local area hospital. Our thoughts are with them and their loved ones. The Delray Beach Police Department is investigating the incident.”

Another incident in the area of B’Nai Israeli at 2200 West Yamato Road in Boca Raton also caused traffic problems for several hours. A person apparently drove a car into a canal. While the driver was not seriously injured, it took quite some time to remove the car from the canal. Traffic was still slowed in the area around 2 p.m., several hours after the incident.
