BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It is a difficult driving day in and around Boca Raton and Delray Beach. Heavy rain and thunderstorms — combined with speeding in some cases — is leading to dangerous conditions across the area.

Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that a City of Delray Beach employee was killed in a car-versus-pedestrian crash this morning near Linton and Federal Highway. The area was shut down for several hours. The image above shows the scene.

Another incident in the area of B’Nai Israeli at 2200 West Yamato Road in Boca Raton also caused traffic problems for several hours. A person apparently drove a car into a canal. While the driver was not seriously injured, it took quite some time to remove the car from the canal. Traffic was still slowed in the area around 2 p.m., several hours after the incident.

Roads are expected to remain slick into the evening. BocaNewsNow.com will continue to update serious road conditions. Please drive carefully.
