BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There is no need to panic at this point but the location of a new tropical wave that rolled off the African Coast on Sunday is notable. It’s southeast of Florida, and is expected to head in a northwesterly direction. While the oval indicates where a system may form and not necessarily a direction of travel, one can’t help by note the location of the “X,” and the general direction of the development zone.

For the North Atlantic…Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Ian, located near the South Carolina coast.
- Eastern Tropical Atlantic: A tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the far eastern tropical Atlantic. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could form early next week as the system moves westward to west-northwestward over the eastern tropical Atlantic. * Formation chance through 48 hours…low…10 percent.
