BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It’s not over yet. The Atlantic Hurricane Season continues with a new tropical wave now being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. The wave first appeared on the NHC’s forecast map early Thursday morning.

The wave, southeast of Florida, poses no immediate threat to land. It has no chance of developing into a depression within the next two days, and a very low chance over the next five days. Here is the afternoon update from the NHC:

  1. Eastern Tropical Atlantic: A large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands is associated with a tropical wave. Environmental conditions appear marginally favorable for some slow development of this system as it moves westward to west-northwestward at 5 to 10 mph over the tropical Atlantic through early next week. * Formation chance through 48 hours…low…near 0 percent.
  • Formation chance through 5 days…low…20 percent.
