Evacuations are ordered in Palm Beach County as Storm Nicole approaches. (NHC).

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County is ordering evacuations of Zones A and B as Storm Nicole approaches the coast. This includes mobile homes, barrier islands, and low-lying areas.

There are nine shelters that will be opened at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Palm Beach County will be providing further information this evening, but for now, here is the list of shelters. We note that only ONE is pet-friendly — pets are NOT permitted in any shelter other than the West Boynton Recreation Center. There is a Special Needs shelter that required pre-registration. Palm Beach Gardens High School at 4245 Holly Drive in Palm Beach Gardens.

Independence Middle School at 4001 Greenway Drive in Jupiter.

Palm Beach Central High School at 8499 West Forest Hill Blvd. in Wellington.

Bethune Elementary at 1501 Avenue U in West Palm Beach.

Park Vista High School at 7900 Jog Road in Lake Worth.

Lake Shore Middle School at 425 West Canal Street North in Belle Glade.

Pahokee Middle School at 850 Larrimore Road in Pahokee.

West Boynton Recreation Center at 6000 Northtree Blvd. in Lake Worth. pet friendly.

Separately, Palm Tran will suspend all operations on Wednesday. A decision concerning Thursday will be made at a later time.
