UPDATE 4:25 p.m. — PBSO just issued this official statement to BocaNewsNow.com: During September and October, PBSO District 4 communities Lotus, Seven Bridges, Boca Bridges & The Oaks have had thirteen (13) high end stolen vehicles taken from within the sub communities. Furthermore, Coral Gables and Pinecrest jurisdictions have had over fifty (50) high end vehicles taken during the same time frame. The SFTF was contacted to further assist with this high end auto theft ring.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, through investigative leads, Agents located the 2021 white Range Rover taken out of the Boca Bridges Community stashed within the parking garage at the Hollywood Seminole Hard Rock Casino Unoccupied and surveillance was established. On Thursday, November 10, 2022, Agents with the SFTF and BSO BAT conducted a covert surveillance operation which focused on the stolen 2021 white Range Rover which was being towed by a private tow company later identified as AL2 Trucking. Agents conducted mobile surveillance until the tow truck parked at 2830 River Run Terrace, Miramar. Once parked, Agents observed Erich Ruiz and Pablo Garcia outside the residence and began moving another White Range Rover which was stolen out of Pompano Beach, and the stolen red F-250 from the drive to stash the White Range Rover out of PBSO inside the residential Garage. A take-down was conducted and Agents apprehended each of the subjects involved without incident.

The suspects were charged with the following:

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office detectives working the ongoing string of car thefts from high-end communities on Lyons Road in Boca Raton and Delray Beach just nabbed a suspect. The thief is allegedly responsible for the broad daylight theft of a Land Rover in Boca Bridges. The theft occurred on October 12th.

It was unclear if the owner of the Land Rover is yet aware of the recovery. We have learned the car was found in central Broward County.

BocaNewsNow.com published video of the actual theft — in progress — shortly after it happened. In the video, you see a man exit what appears to be a black car, walk up to the Land Rover, gain entrance, and drive off. The vehicle’s owner later told BocaNewsNow.com that keys were sitting inside of the vehicle at the time of the theft.

WATCH THE VIDEO. The Land Rover was stolen on October 14th, 2022 from Boca Bridges. The car was just recovered in Broward County. At least one person is in custody.

Detectives, according to sources, are now working to determine if the suspect is responsible for as many as 16 car thefts from Boca Bridges, Seven Bridges, Lotus, and other Lyons Road communities over the past three months. In almost every theft, the owner left a key fob IN the vehicle. Police routinely remind area residents that mirrors do not retract when a key fob is inside, often sending a message to would-be thieves that the car may be easy to steal.

It was not immediately clear if the suspect will be booked in Broward County before being brought to Palm Beach County. This is a developing story, check back for updates.
