NO HOLIDAY: Traffic Woes To Continue In Boca Raton, Delray Beach This Week

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It will be slow going, for at least part of the week, for motorists moving around South Palm Beach County. Road work will continue through Wednesday on many major arteries and thoroughfares.

The following is an incomplete list of projects that are likely to affect a large number of drivers in and around South Palm Beach County for the Thanksgiving week:

LOCATION: Clint Moore Road from Oaks Club Drive to Long Lake Drive (District 5)

DESCRIPTION: Road construction. 

RESTRICTION: Periodic lane closures.

LOCATION: Lyons Road from south of LWDD L-38 Canal (south of Beaujolais Avenue/Golden Gate Avenue) to W. Atlantic Avenue (SR 806) (District 5)

DESCRIPTION: Road construction.

RESTRICTION: North and south bound Lyons Road traffic from south of Beaujolais Avenue / Golden Gate Avenue to 153rd Road S. has been shifted to the west into the future southbound lanes. Periodic lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.

LOCATION: Military Trail at the Glades Road (S.R. 808) overpass (City of Boca Raton) (District 4)

DESCRIPTION: Overpass construction (Crane Placement on Military Trail)

RESTRICTION: The northbound lanes are reduced to two lanes between N.W. 19th Street and to the north side of the Glades Road (S.R. 808) overpass. Southbound traffic is reduced to two lanes from N.W. Corporate Boulevard to south of the Glades Road (S.R. 808) overpass. This project is expected to remain under construction until November 2022.

LOCATION: W. Palmetto Park Road from S.W. 7th Avenue to S.W. 5th Avenue (City of Boca Raton) (District 4)

DESCRIPTION: Bridge replacement project.

RESTRICTION: East and west bound traffic has been shifted and reduced to a single lane in each direction between S.W. 7th Avenue and S.W. 5th Avenue. All side streets and businesses from S.W. 7th Avenue to S.W. 5th Avenue are restricted to right turn in and right turn out. This construction project is expected to be completed in April 2023. Traffic lane closures will change as construction progresses. 

LOCATION: Military Trail from W. Palmetto Park Road to Clint Moore Road (City of Boca Raton) (District 4) 

DESCRIPTION: Pavement markings.

RESTRICTION: Periodic lane closures.

LOCATION:  East Atlantic Avenue between NE 7th Avenue and A1A Avenue, in Delray Beach, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wed. Nov. 23, 1 of 1 lanes closed, for bridge maintenance. 

We remind you that this is an incomplete list of “highlights.” Emergency projects are not listed, and other projects that may have been scheduled for completion are likely to continue due to the slowdown and shutdown for Hurricane Ian in October.
