BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — FLL, PBI, and MIA are all experiencing significant delays Wednesday, with Miami International Airport diverting a huge number of flights. The reason: heavy fog.
As of 4:04 p.m., FlightAware.com report more than 300 delays at Miami International Airport, with 227 of those delays attributed to American Airlines. Spirit, Envoy, and JetBlue also logged notable delays.
At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, 64 Spirit flights, 53 JetBlue flights, and 10 Delta flights experienced delays so far today, with the airport logging 173 delays in total.
At Palm Beach International, 42 flights were delayed through 4 p.m. Among them: 14 JetBlue flights, 11 American Airlines flights, 4 Southwest, 3 Delta, and 3 Frontier.
From our earlier reporting:
Many flights destined for Miami are being diverted to Tampa and other airports, while outbound flights are experiencing multi-hour delays. FlightAware.com says Miami is the worst delay airport in the United States so far Wednesday. PBI and FLL are also logging huge delays.
If you are flying from any of South Florida’s airports today, or meeting travelers, we advise you to check both the airline for flight information and FL511.com for highway information, as several crashes are slowing traffic across the region.
