BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Thanksgiving travel situation in South Florida is significantly better than it was on the “day before Thanksgiving,” but it isn’t perfect. Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport are both showing sporadic delays due to issues in other parts of the country. An American Airlines flight from PBI to Philadelphia, originally set to land before most people would enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, is now set to ruin the day for those on board. Its departure was delayed from 6:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
But other delays are not as notable — most just a matter of minutes. At Miami International, which was slammed Wednesday after heavy fog resulted in multiple inbound flights being diverted to Tampa, Sarasota, and other Florida airports, the situation Thursday is typical. A few delays due to issues in other places, but nothing out of the ordinary.
FlightAware.com reports a total of just 676 delays as of 9:30 a.m for all flights within, into, or out of the United States. The cancellation count is just 30.
