BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The deadline is rapidly approaching for students and parents who would like to attend schools outside of their officially zoned area in the Palm Beach County School District. Once the application window closes, it’s closed. There is no second chance.
There are hundreds of programs that students may qualify for which require attending a different school. Among the most notable: Bak Middle School of the Arts, the Conservatory School at North Palm Beach, A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Boynton Beach Community High School Arts programs, and West Boca Community School Arts Programs. But there are also programs ranging from Criminology to Culinary Arts, Medical Sciences to Physical Science that all require applications and advanced planning. There is no guarantee that a specific student will be accepted into a specific program.
For students hoping to attend schools with auditions — such as Bak or A.W. Dreyfoos, the application deadline is December 9th. For all other choice programs, the application deadline is January 27th. School counselors can answer questions concerning eligibility and requirements.
We are publishing the entire Palm Beach County School District Choice Program guide, below. It is for the 2023-2024 school year. There are, however, some programs which may be available for the second half of the current school year.
