PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Wellington resident Stuart Roffman is facing a lawsuit just filed by American Express over a hefty unpaid bill. Amex claims that Roffman owes $271,996 — and that his last payment was received in 2020. Amex wants its money. Now.
Roffman was apparently served by the Court at his home in the 3000 block of Aiken Court in Wellington. He had not filed a response to the suit as of 6 a.m. Monday, December 5th.
Public records show that while Roffman, 80, allegedly owes a significant amount of money to Amex, he drives in style. He was stopped by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in January — while driving a Bentley — for allegedly speeding on Okeechobee Blvd. He plead no contest and paid a fine.
Roffman’s Amex card is now canceled. Florida’s Office of Business and Professional Regulation says that Roffman holds an active Real Estate license.
