Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Susan Delaney After Finding 95-Year-Old Mom Beaten, Bruised In Boca Greens.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 95-year-old Boca Raton woman says her daughter beats her when she doesn’t follow “the rules,” hits her with a wrench, and physically batters her throughout the day. The woman, found on a street in Boca Greens by a neighbor, was allegedly displaying bruises and other injuries when she was taken in by a neighbor. That neighbor called police Saturday night.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, according to a report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, took Susan Delaney, 65, into custody after Deputies documented the alleged victim in poor condition.
“(The victim) stated that her daughter, Delaney, abuses and batters her constantly and it has gotten worse over the past year. stated that “When I don’t follow the rules, she hits me.” A Deputy asked (the victim) to give an example of (what happens) when she did not follow the rules and she explained that this morning she ate and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. (The victim) said Delaney did not like the result after she washed the dishes, then began to yell at her and struck her.
(The victim)stated that she did not want to go back to the residence because Delaney will get upset and strike her. (The victim) stated Delaney grabs her arms and hands then shakes her when she gets upset. (The victim) stated Delaney also kicks her on her legs when she gets upset. (The victim) stated that Delaney got mad at her and used a wrench to strike her several times on her head. The Deputy observed multiple bruises on (the victim’s) face from her forehead to her chin. There was also a laceration on her forehead. The bruises had various shades which indicated that some were old and healing within two weeks, some bruises were light in color, which were older, others were darker in color, which were healing, and some were red in color, which indicated more recent trauma. (The victim) also had bruises under and around both eyes which were red. (The victim) had bruises on her neck and upper torso which were smaller spots.”
Susan Delaney of the 20000 block of Back Nine Drive is now charged with “crimes against person — abuse elderly or disabled adult,” “aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older,” “crimes against person — neglect elderly,” and “battery.” She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail Saturday night and released on $20,000 bond early Tuesday. A court date is pending.
