BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The National Weather Service has issued an exceptionally rare warning that hypothermia is possible is Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and inland Palm Beach County as temperatures are expected to plunge overnight Sunday into Monday.
A “Wind Chill Advisory” is now in effect from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. EST Monday. The National Weather Service says “very cold wind chills are expected with wind chills as low as 30 degrees.
“The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken,” said the Weather Service in a statement. The warning covers Inland Palm Beach County, Inland Collier County, Glades County, and Hendry County.
Palm Beach County opened a cold weather shelter on Friday for residents in the western part of Palm Beach County.
