BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you’re holding a Southwest Airlines ticket for travel into or out of South Florida Tuesday, odds are good that you’re going nowhere. At least for now.
At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Southwest has already canceled 84 flights as of 9:39 a.m. Tuesday. The airline has also delayed 3 flights. JetBlue has canceled 3 flights and delayed 29. Spirit has canceled 1 and delayed 36. The data in this report is provided by FlightAware.
At Miami International Airport, Southwest has canceled 30 flights as of 9:41 a.m. Tuesday and delayed 3. No other airline comes close at MIA to Southwest for the number of delays and axed flights.
At Palm Beach International Airport, Southwest has already canceled 10 flights and delayed 2. United has canceled 3 flights at PBI and delayed two, Delta has so far canceled one flight and delayed three.
The cancellations and delays mark the fifth straight day of travel trouble nationwide, and especially in South Florida, as airlines continue to recover from the winter storms that swept the nation Christmas weekend.
