Amanda Kaufman Is Accused Of Lying To Receive Assistance Funds…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is facing a fraud charge after a Florida state investigator alleged that she received public assistance funds that she was not eligible to receive. Kaufman was arrested earlier this week by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and jailed.
According to an investigator with the State of Florida Department of Financial Services Division of Public Assistance Fraud: “Amanda L Kaufman, by means of false statements and/or omissions, failed to report to the Florida Department of Children and Families, her gainful employment by Alarm Grid Inc. during the period of September 30, 2019 through August 31, 2020. As a result of her actions, Amanda L Kaufman received $2,808.00 in Food Assistance Program benefits during the period of October 2019 through February 2020 and May 2020 through July 2020 to which she was not legally entitled.
Furthermore, Amanda L Kaufman received or caused the disbursement of $4,971.49 in Medicaid Program benefits during the period of April 2020 through August 2020; for an aggregate amount of $7,779.49 that she was not legally entitled to.”
The complaint was filed by the State of Florida in July. A warrant was executed in Hillsborough County in July. She was arrested by PBSO on Wednesday and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Kaufman posted $3,000 bond the same day and was released. A court date has not been set. Kaufman, 35, lists an apartment on “Diagonal” in Boca Raton as her home address.
