UPDATE: FHP SAYS FATAL.

UPDATE: 1:24 p.m. — FHP tells BocaNewsNow.com that a 77-year-old man from West Palm Beach was was walking on the inside lane of I-95 south when he was struck by a 2016 White Ford Utility Van heading north. Police do not know at this point why the man was walking on I-95.
UPDATE: 8:20 a.m. — Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that this is a fatal crash and being investigated by Florida Highway Patrol. Traffic remains heavy in the area.
UPDATE 7:55 a.m. — One lane is now open but we hear that traffic is extremely heavy in the area. Motorists are still advised to seek an alternate route.

Boca Raton Police reported the crash at 7:28 a.m. Initial reports from the police suggest the ramp may be closed for quite some time.
Police report that traffic is heavy in the area and motorists should seek an alternate route.
