PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says John Magee of Carney’s Point, NJ, allegedly threatened Frontier Airlines flight 2346 to Philadelphia Tuesday night. That led to an evacuation of much of Terminal C at the airport.
According to an arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Magee was overheard saying, “you don’t know what you’re in for,” and “I have a bomb in the bag,” as he boarded the plane. The witness told the pilot who called Frontier operations. PBSO and FBI responded. A Deputy said that Magee seemingly admitted to making the threat when he was questioned and asked if he said anything that he shouldn’t have.
“I didn’t say anything about blowing up a plane,” Magee allegedly said, although the deputy says he never asked Magee anything about blowing up anything.
Magee’s bags were checked. Nothing was found. But protocol required Terminal C to be evacuated while it was inspected. Flights were delayed but not canceled. Magee is now being held on a count of making a bomb threat. It was unclear if federal charges will be filed.
