BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Boca Raton woman was killed mid-day Friday when she crashed her Cadillac XTS on Spanish River Blvd. near Airport Road in Boca Raton. The woman is identified as Laura Cotos, who records indicate is from West Boca Raton but also spent significant time in Sterling Heights, Michigan — a suburb of Detroit.

The Boca Raton Police Department released this advisory just after 4:30 p.m:

“At approximately 12:45 pm, Friday, February 17, 2023, Boca Raton Police responded to a single-vehicle accident in the area of 1000 Spanish River Blvd. Traffic Homicide Investigators spoke to witnesses who said the vehicle was traveling westbound on Spanish River Blvd approaching the intersection of NW Broken Sound Blvd when the driver veered to the left and struck the center median.

According to witnesses, the vehicle re-entered the roadway and accelerated, colliding with a light pole. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead.
