Kings Point is a senior living community. At least one person is confirmed dead, according to sources connected to the rescue operation. There are additional injuries.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue is on the scene, working to extinguish the flames. It was not immediately what type of car was involved or what happened that led the vehicle to slam into the building and ignite. A fire investigator has been called to the location.
Rescuers are searching units in the building to confirm that there are no other injuries.
At least one injured person — a man in his 70s — was rushed to an area hospital as a “trauma alert,” meaning significant emergency medical care is needed.
