BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 is set to close tonight in Boca Raton, forcing all northbound traffic to exit at Glades Road. Expect delays in the area that may be significant at times.
The closure is the latest closure as FDOT continues to expand and enhance I-95’s express lanes. The latest closure is in the area of the just-opened Diverging Diamond which, even though open, is not complete.
This is the official announcement for tonight’s closure from the Florida Department of Transportation:
“All I-95 northbound lanes at SR-808/Glades Road will be closed to traffic overnight, Monday, Feb. 20 for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. each morning. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to SR-808/Glades Road, US-1/Federal Highway and SR-794/Yamato Road. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. Tuesday, Feb. 21 will be used as a contingency night if needed.”
