Teen Then Chases Ex Across Florida Atlantic University Campus, Repeatedly Hitting Car, According To Police…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We may never know exactly what Palm Beach State College student Layla Lewis was going to tell her ex-boyfriend — an FAU student –who was apparently quietly eating lunch in his car in a Florida Atlantic University parking garage — when she came in hot. FAU police redacted the final words of this sentence: “She found out this morning that she’s ——-. She wanted to inform him that she’s ———.”
FAU police did, however, share that Lewis apparently attacked her ex’s car, then followed him when he tried to drive away. Lewis is now facing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. She remains in the Palm Beach County Jail Wednesday afternoon. The following is part of the report written by FAU police, and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.
“While eating (the victim) said that he heard tires screeching and observed a white SUV pull behind him and park next to him on the right passenger side. He sald that he immediately recognized this vehicle to be that of Layla Lewis. He said that she jumped out of the vehicle and approached his car In a fast and aggressive manner. He said that as she made her way to the driver’s door, he closed the door and locked his vehicle. He said that she attempted to open his door but could not be due to it being locked. He then said that she then attempted to open the rear left passenger door but could not open the door.
He said that she became enraged and began yelling at him to open the door. He said that she then began ban to slowly put the car in reverse. He said that he went slow to refrain from hitting her she grabbed onto the driver’s side review mirror and attempted to pull it off. He said that she let go (and was) cursing words as she fell to the floor. He said that she immediately got up and got In her vehicle… He said that he was traveling southbound on East University when the white SUV struck the rear of his red vehicle. He added that she apparently kept her foot on the gas and struck his vehicle four additional times. Each time the vehicle made contact, his neck bobbled back and forth causing discomfort and enhanced his fear for his life. He said that she struck him a couple times before both vehicles came to a stop.
Lewis said that recently and told her that he wanted nothing to do with her. She said that this morning she found out that she (redacted). She said that she attempted to call him but could not get through. She said that she tried calling other people but could not reach (the alleged victim). She said that she knew his whereabouts from prior occasions. She said that she went to that location in hopes of getting
to speak to her. She said that he had several of her belongings and she wanted to inform him (redacted). She said that she was outraged…”
Lewis, 18, of Coronado Avenue in Boca Raton, is being held on $20,000 bond. A court date is pending. The incident occurred mid-day Tuesday.
