BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — For those who think the Diverging Diamond at Glades Road and I-95 isn’t ready for drive time, you’re correct. The Florida Department of Transportation is reminding drivers that even though it is open, it is still a work in progress. FDOT shared this with the BocaNewsNow.com traffic center:

“The SR-808/Glades Road and I-95 interchange is in a new Diverging Diamond configuration. Please use caution as you approach the interchange – the posted speed advisory is 35 MPH. The I-95 entrance ramps are accessible from the far left lane. The DDI is in a temporary configuration with 3 travel lanes available in each direction while outstanding work is ongoing. The final configuration of 4 lanes in each direction will be implemented by May 1, 2023.

Westbound Glades Road, between St. Andrews Blvd and University Drive/FAU Blvd, will have one lane closed daily, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound Glades Road, between St. Andrews Boulevard and University Drive/FAU Blvd, will have one lane closed daily, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

To ensure pedestrian safety during roadway widening and drainage activities, the north sidewalk of Glades Road from W. University Drive to Executive Center Drive is closed through March 2023. Pedestrian traffic is being detoured to the south sidewalk during this phase of construction. Please use caution as there is a new sidewalk configuration. Use crosswalks and adhere to pedestrian signals.”
