BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Remember Sushi Ray? It was a restaurant in the Shops at Boca Center on Military Trail in Boca Raton. The restaurant closed in 2022, but much like improperly prepared sushi, it apparently left something unsettled.

The new owner of Boca Center, known as SCC Shops at Boca Center LLC, says the closed restaurant still owes a significant amount of money. SCC says it inherited accounts in default when it took over the shopping center, and is now demanding payment.

According to a complaint filed with the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts, Sushi Ray owes $99,799 in monthly charges and $3,080 in late charges, for a grand total of $102,789.

Unable to kick out a tenant who already left, SCC Boca Center seeks a judgment against Sushi Ray — and the owners behind the restaurant — for the full amount. The suit was filed on February 28th. There’s been no immediate response filed by Sushi Ray. Read the complete lawsuit, below.
