BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that the two men killed in Sunday’s plane crash in Lantana are from both Delray Beach and Boca Raton.

According to police, John Holland IV, 43, and Michael Marshall, 34, were in the plane that crashed at Lantana Airport. The FAA reports that the Diamond DA40 “crashed under unknown circumstances after departure from West Palm Beach.

FlightAware.com tracking data for the plane which left Williston Municipal Airport and then crashed in Lantana around 9:24 p.m. on Sunday, killing one man from Boca Raton and another from Delray Beach.

Public records indicate that Holland received a Master of Business Administration in Aviation and Airway Management from Lynn University in 2021 and lived in East Delray Beach. Michael Marshall, also according to public records, lived in West Boca Raton with another home in Massachusetts. He held a pilot’s license, according to government records.

The FAA and NTSB continue to investigate the crash. According to PBSO, “upon arrival (of deputies), the plane was engulfed with flames which were extinguished by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. Two deceased white male victims were observed in the wreckage.”
