BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Florida Lt. Governor Jeanette Nunez says insurance help for homeowners is coming, but is unlikely to be instant. The Lt. Governor joined me Wednesday morning on South Florida’s First News on NewsRadio 610 WIOD.
“Well, as you know, we had a special session on property insurance, we had one in the previous session. And so I think a lot of the reforms that are being championed and have taken place thus far, they’re going to take some time. And I think everyone was clear about that,” she said.
While she says things are happening behind the scenes, results won’t be immediate.
“It’s going to take some time for it to show results,” added the Lt. Gov. “I know, people are hurting right now, which is why we’ve set out several in several billion dollars in terms of reinsurance stabilizing the market, the best way to drive costs down is to bring more competition into the market.”
Lt. Gov. Nunez also spoke about the belief that she shares with Governor DeSantis that Florida is correct in its right-leaning course. Listen to the complete interview above.
