BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Fast-acting cops in West Palm Beach nabbed three suspects accused of victimizing women from Boca Raton and Delray Beach in West Palm Beach to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at bars on trendy Clematis Street. The West Palm Beach Police Department issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com early Sunday morning:

“A group of spring breakers at a downtown bar found the pot o gold missing from their purses while celebrating St. Paddy’s Day, and officers quickly zeroed in on the crooks.

Just after 11 p.m. March 17, a group of five women from Boca Raton, Delay Beach and Pennsylvania were in Roxy’s Pub in the 300 block of Clematis Street when they notice some of their purses were emptied out. Taken were cellphones and credit cards, and the women quickly alerted officers from the West Palm Beach Police Department’s Entertainment District Unit.

The officers confirmed that the stolen credit cards were already being used at two nearby establishments, Grease Burger Bar at 213 Clematis St., and at 123 Datura, at 123 Datura St. Officers identified three men from Miami-Dade County, who rang up hundreds of dollars in charges, including a $75 round of shots, as fast as the officers were able to home in on them. Thinking their shenanigans would go unnoticed, the suspects dropped the stolen credit cards as they were being removed from the restaurant.

Once the trio was detained outside one of the establishments, a bartender from 123 Datura realized her cell phone was also stolen. Police arrested two of the men, Jose L. Gonzalez Rodriguez, 45, of Hialeah, and Orlando Milan, 54, of Miami. Gonzalez Rodriguez was charged with credit card theft and credit card fraud, and Milan was charged with possession of a stolen credit card.

Both men were booked into the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Main Detention Center early Saturday morning. Charges are pending against the third man, whose name is not being released while the investigation is active. The car the men were in, a Nissan Rogue, was impounded with stolen cell phones in it, including that of the 123 Datura bartender.”
