BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Boca Raton Police Department is withholding the name of the victim of a fatal crash early Saturday morning on Dixie Highway.
The Department issued the following statement mid-day Monday: “At approximately 2:22 am, Saturday, March 18, 2023, four vehicles were involved in a crash that resulted in a fatality. A 2006 Audi station wagon was traveling south on Dixie Highway at a high rate of speed while a 2021 Honda Civic, with a driver and two passengers, was traveling east on W Palmetto Park Rd.
The investigation revealed the driver of the Audi station wagon failed to stop at the redlight striking the Honda Civic and pushing it through the intersection into two vehicles stopped at the redlight on northbound Dixie Hwy. One passenger from the Honda was ejected from the left rear of the vehicle and died on scene. The second passenger from the Honda fled the scene but was later found at West Boca Medical center. The Honda’s driver was taken to Delray Medical Center as a trauma. The driver of the Audi was transported to the hospital with non-life threating injuries. The occupants of the two other vehicles were not injured. Due to the criminal investigation all victim’s names are being withheld due to Marsy’s Law. The driver of the Audi is identified as Duane Williamson of Deerfield Beach.
