BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The City of Pompano Beach has issued a “boil water advisory” for our readers just south of the Palm Beach County line. This advisory was issued late Saturday afternoon:

“The City of Pompano Beach has issued a precautionary boil water notification for SW and NW areas, west of Dixie Highway in City. During routine maintenance being conducted today at the City’s water treatment plant, pressure in the system went down temporarily therefore out of an abundance of caution, the City of Pompano Beach is issuing a precautionary boil water notification.

Water used for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making ice cubes and tooth brushing – should be boiled for at least three minutes before use, or bottled water may be substituted for tap water for these uses. The boil water order is strictly precautionary, you may continue to use your water for bathing, lawn irrigation and other non-consumptive uses.

The boil water order will last for at least 24 hours. We will notify residents again when the precautionary boil water order has been lifted.

A CodeRed Emergency Notification was issued to the affected areas. The City Utilities Department is also working in conjunction with the Department of Environment Protection.  The areas affected are the Florida Turnpike to the west; Dixie Highway to the east; Copans Road to the north; McNab Road to the south.”
